The Review of the Hindi play Digdarshak

8 August 2018, Department of English has arranged the Play screening 'Digdarshak' by Movie Screening Committee. The Play is presented by Alpa Ponda. Writer of this Play is Priyam Jani and Director is Rushik Jani, there were using some technics like Flashback, Fade in & Fade out, Lights etc. For basic information open my friend's blog,

Lets come to the point, there were no doubt, it is certain fantastic play. However I felt that it is connected with the real life, some of the character of these play has not realized their personal life and theater life, they believe both life is same. They could not back from the play's character. I would like to give one example which I see and also feel that. I have two friends, who can not back from character. They role vital in the play ' Adhuri Tasbir'. After the completed the play they did not return in their own life, their life style,tones etc totally changed. It is not only about my friends but everyone who are role in play. We can find  this point in this play like Vijay's father cannot return to his own life, he can not give time to family. The occasion of his son's birthday, he was not present, that time he went to the stage and seat there. This is not good, of course Stage performance is give us spiritual power but we do not forget our life, our society, our family.

Here I am not talking about the play  only, I would like to talk about our day to day life. We like watch movie, serial, cartoon etc, and after watching we try to do carbon copy of its characters. For example, 'Chhelo Divs' after watching this Gujarati Movie Boys and Girls try to believe like hero and heroine like during  Singing a song in public aria, disturbing class, insulting friends etc. That is not good. The movie, Play, Drama, Serial, Cartoon is made for our entertainment and entertainment should not be followed.

During Screening I noted such points, which are really heart touching. When family became our enemy, we are broken totally. Vijay's father talk about 'Aswathama' and compare his life with him. This monologue indicates the aloneness, broken heart, he speaks fantastic line:

'કળા માત્ર સ્ટેજ ઉપર જ દેખાડવાની ના હોય,

ધરના સભ્યો ને ખુશ રાખવા તે પણ એક કળા છે.'

'જ્યારે ધરના જ સભ્યો આપણી વિરુધ થાય ને,

ત્યારે આદમી અંદર હી અંદર ખુબ ટુટતો હોય છે.'

Really this play has not only Dramatical play, or Entertainment but it indicates our sociaty, our culture and our nature, our mentality.
